Abstract :
Traditional energy shortage leads to the rapid development of wind power. And the integration technology of wind farm into the large grid is now becoming a major concern. In this paper, two different types of integration technology, which are HVAC (high voltage alternating current) and HVDC (high voltage direct current), are compared both in the theoretical and practical analysis. Besides, a simplified wind power integration model of HVAC and HVDC is constructed and simulated in the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation environment. Through the comparison of AC and DC transmission, some suggestions and comments are made to improve the steady and high efficient operation of wind farm integration.
