The effect of mobile social media´s functions on communication pattern

With the emergence of mobile Internet and social media, human relationship has evolved into a new form due to the much broader reach and more efficient communications enabled by information technology. This paper examines communication pattern and personal social networks transformation on a popular mobile messaging app. The functions can be classified into information, social and other functional dimension. We find out the functional dimension will probably decrease the frequency of contact and chatting activity.
