Abstract
The increasing of the installed capacity of the renewables in the southern areas of interconnected power system (IPS) of Ukraine in the future will effect load flow and frequency control. In order to simulate these processes the model of automatic generation control (AGC) of IPS of Ukraine has been developed. To adjust proposed AGC model the frequency characteristics of IPS of Ukraine have been defined in the event of disconnection of 1000 MW generating unit at a nuclear power plant. The obtained simulation results and its comparison with frequency and net power flow recorded by SCADA-EMS indicate the adequacy of the proposed AGC model. The developed model is used to study the impact of the solar and wind power plants on frequency control.
