  • Abstract
    Seamless positioning is one of the goals for positioning technology. In all the related positioning systems, confidence parameters are needed, to support the location information fusion process in seamless positioning. Compared to the major positioning systems, positioning accuracy estimation parameter is absent in fingerprint positioning system. This hinders the fingerprint positioning system from cooperating with other positioning systems. This paper presents a positioning accuracy estimation algorithm to calculate a confidence parameter for fingerprint positioning systems. The proposed parameter method estimates the positioning accuracy based on the distribution of selected Reference Points (RP). The performance of the proposed parameter algorithm is proved by simulation and hardware experiments.
