Abstract :
Focus is on the single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) topology of the DC/DC converters widely used in power factor correction and renewable energy applications. We propose a passive modular structure of the SEPIC. The main advantage lies in totally passive parallel module use. The base module contains all active elements and a control system. Operation of the modular structure is analyzed theoretically. Expressions for voltage stress, current ripple and average current of elements are presented. The structure proposed was experimentally verified with an experimental prototype based on two parallel passive modules.
