Abstract :
Simulation of the radar video signal including target echo signal, trigger pulse and ship head pulse is important in the research and development of radar signal processing algorithm. In this paper we present a new radar video signal simulation method based on the pre-recorded radar video signal and a single-channel high speed DA converter card. The targets moving pattern is controlled by the computer software, but their video images are generated from the pre-recorded radar video signal. To output the radar target echo signal, trigger pulse and ship head pulse using a single channel DA converter, they are combined into a single synthetic waveform. Finally, the synthetic radar signal is separated with a simple low-cost separation circuit.
