Abstract
Knowledge of the external field distribution around high voltage apparatus is important. As a part of the effort to improve the physical understanding within this area, the DC field distribution around an HVDC wall bushing has been measured with a rotating field probe. The results give a good picture of the DC field around the bushing and shows that a linear model is not sufficient to describe this field, at higher voltage levels. Thus, these results and similar measurements give valuable information about the external field distribution around high voltage apparatus, for existing and future generations of HVDC.
