Abstract :
We consider bundles of conducting Carbon Nanotubes as antennas to operate in the sub-terahertz range of frequencies. A transcendental equation for the complex propagation parameter of the electric current on the antenna is derived. Therefore, the resonant length of the antenna is obtained along with the radiation resistance and the radiation efficiency. Both the single wall (SWCNT) and the multiple wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) bundles are analyzed. Numerical results are obtained for the antenna parameters and they can be used for antenna design at a given frequency.
