Abstract :
The stepped-frequency synthetic aperture radar (SFSAR) has been widely used to obtain high-range-resolution image. Combining the sub-band echoes to form a wideband signal is the most important technique for SFSAR. But the space-variant range difference of the pulses in a cluster impacts the synthetic image quality seriously. In this paper, we propose a novel synthetic bandwidth method based on the back projection (BP) imaging. This method can avoid the complex compensation process for the range difference and might improve the use ratio of bandwidth. The simulation results validate the effectiveness and advantages of this method.
