Abstract :
In this paper, we presented a method of 3D model texture mapping based on projection and viewpoints and this method could enhance the sense of reality of 3D model. Firstly, we proposed a regional division algorithm based on viewpoints of 3D surface gird model. By choosing different viewpoints, the 3D model surface gird is divided into reasonable number of regions. Secondly, we presented a texture coordinates method based on normalized projection. So different regions get the corresponding texture coordinates information effectively by normalizing projection transformation. Thirdly, texture coordinate, the 3D model space geometry information and views of the corresponding viewpoints are combined together to render the scene. Then texture mapping is completed in the end. The method has proven to be correct and effective through the positive experimental results of different 3D model.
