  • Abstract
We introduce a comprehensive framework for the deployment of business artifacts in commercial lines - in the day-to-day running of businesses. The solution is easily scalable from small-scale businesses to large-scale enterprises. An attempt is made to describe artifacts within the familiar database querying tools. As a specific example, we attempt the artifact description, through MySQL workbench. A reputed open-source tool - MySQL workbench is used for modeling artifacts, by fitting our understanding of artifacts and mapping them to the corresponding tools available on workbench. We also develop a novel language that is centric to artifact processing - BASQL. The developed syntax and a few applications of the new language are shown in this work. The BASQL syntax provides easy, intuitive, non-technical and very high-level syntax for use by business professionals. The integration of business artifacts with analytics and intelligence tools using the developed framework is mentioned.
