Abstract :
Design aspects related to the introduction of optical technology in data center are discussed with reference to both data plane and control plane functionalities when circuit and packet service are provided with different quality of service guarantees in Software Defined Networking (SDN) context. Results from recent studies are presented and suggestions for further research given.
