Abstract
In this report, the acoustic streaming field in a 2-dimensional rectangular acoustic field with a traveling wave is analyzed by the finite element method. It is found that the acoustic streaming field manifests a diversity in the number, size, distribution and shape of the eddies, with the change of the frequency, size, topology and driving conditions. The diversity of acoustic streaming field, revealed by this work, has potential applications in ultrasonic micro/nanomanipulations.
