Abstract :
Relaying is considered in LTE-A networks as a promising solution to increase the capacity and improve the coverage. Resource sharing among different nodes and links and inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) are challenging issues to obtain a real performance gain linked to relay deployments. This paper focuses on Type 1 half-duplex inband relaying. We propose a dynamic resource allocation (RA) and ICIC algorithm for backhaul subframes, in which the resources allocated to each RN in its backhaul link are dynamically adjusted, considering the aggregate traffic demand of its users in heterogeneous load distributions among RNs. The aim is to achieve a fair resource distribution among RNs, using efficient coordinated frequency reuse schemes, which not only reduce ICI but also minimize the impact on the bandwidth availability of macrocell users.
