Abstract
Animated Pedagogical Agent (APA) is getting more attention and being implemented in various instructional applications regardless of learning disciplines. APA helps improve user learning experience and thus enhances and increases the effectiveness of the courseware. Studies also showed that learner´s emotion have a tremendous effect in one´s cognitive process. This paper discusses the pilot study for the implementation of a courseware with APA that adapts to learner´s emotions. The APA in the courseware was tested for its effectiveness on the target group using the pre-test and post-test approach. The results showed that adapting the preferred emotion into the APA in a courseware has a better effect in learning as compared to an APA without the emotion.
