Abstract :
Sub-spectrum suppressed transmission has been proposed to achieve highly efficient frequency usage on satellite transponder for satellite communication systems. In our proposal, Direct Spectrum Division (DSD) is employed to directly divide a single-carrier modulation signal into sub-spectra and some sub-spectra are suppressed at the transmitter in order to reduce the total occupied bandwidth. In this paper we developed a prototype transceiver that achieves real-time processing of DSD-based sub-spectrum suppressed transmission and realizes autologous spectrum regeneration (ASR) to reduce inter symbol interference (ISI) due to the sub-spectrum suppression. This paper presents indoor experimental results of the prototype and clarifies that frequency utilization efficiency is increased up to 147% by proposed scheme.
