Abstract
In this paper, a rectification method for quick response code (QR code) using kernel based Hough transform is proposed. The kernel based Hough transform shows significantly better performance than the standard Hough transform in terms of computational cost, while maintaining robust results. QR code consists of black and white modules. Morphological operations are applied to the QR code image as preprocessing to fill white modules with black modules. The boundary surrounding the QR code can be obtained using Kernel based Hough transform. Once the boundary is determined, the QR code image can be rectified by applying a perspective transformation to the image. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently rectify QR Code images.
