Abstract
We study the feasibility of imaging the presence and position of apertures in a metallic shielding. The proposed procedure is inspired by inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging, applied to signals received at the interior of the system under test (SUT), within the shield to be imaged. The SUT is submitted to a series of plane waves impinging from different directions of arrival; the proposed procedure transforms directional and phase-shift information into spatial resolution, without requiring necessarily the use of spatially resolved waves to estimate the position of apertures. Numerical results are shown, and demonstrate the feasibility of localizing several apertures from a single internal receiver.
