Abstract :
In recent years, fire accidents of high-rise buildings have being occurring frequently, and people pay more and more and more attention to the fire safety of high-rise buildings. The staircases are important escape routes when the fire occurs, so it is very significant to study on the mode of smoke control in staircases. In this paper, the smoke-proof effect of mechanical pressurization in staircases is studied using the FDS developed by NIST of USA. By comparing some different smoke-proof strategies, the results show that mechanical pressurization in staircases have good smoke-proof effect and the occupants can escape to outdoor using stairways safely.
