  • Abstract
Referring to the cracks on the main pier of Hang Zhou Ningbo railway bridge during the construction, this paper presents a three-dimensional entity model to analyze the reasons for the cracks. The result of simulated calculation proves that the cracks on the main pier of railway bridge are induced by indirect effects, such as the temperature stress and shrinkage stress. The cracks have great harm on the durability and normal use of bridge, so a reinforcement scheme for the main pier is put forward and the strengthened pier is calculated under three load cases with finite element model, which proves the reinforcement scheme is effective.
