Abstract
For the long-range transport of large-scale wind power as well as large regional power grid interconnection issues facing low-frequency oscillations, this paper presents a wide-area damping controller design method applying to the wind farm grid background. Firstly, this method use multi-element multi-innovation recursive least square algorithm improve the ARMA model identification methods, using the identification system transfer function model, avoiding the problem of detailed and accurate modeling for the wind farm and the interconnected power system. Then use the free-weighting matrices to design wide-area delay damping controller. EPRI-8 machine 36 bus test system with wind farm simulation showed that the identification method and the controller designed method can effectively inhibit the interarea low frequency oscillation problem of interconnected system with wind farm.
