Abstract :
Though IEEE802.11DCF has been widely implemented and used in variety of WLAN devices, its performance is sub-optimal, due to the initial window of DCF could not derive its optimal value based on the network scale. Therefore, a new medium access protocol, namely TCCW-DCF, with a same contention window is proposed. The performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed with a two-dimensional Markov model. Simulation results show that, the proposed protocol not only could effectively reduce the average channel access delay, but also derive its optimal contention window for its maximum normalized saturation throughput based on the network scale.
