Abstract :
Intelligently setting nominally-idle cells in a PIC photonic switch reduces crosstalk. 100 Gb/s DP-QPSK simulation shows 0.3 dB OSNR improvement, for 13 dB extinction ratio of a practical photonic switch cell. The method operates correctly in a 10 Gb/s NRZ test-bed.
