Abstract :
In this paper, the performance of a directional Vee dipole antenna is investigated. The study includes increasing the antenna gain by implementing reflector and director elements. The study starts with designing a Vee dipole antenna with a 44mm arm length and a UWB coaxial balun. Then the effect of reducing the arm length on impedance bandwidth is investigated. Dielectric cones are implemented between the Vee arms to compensate for the reduction in length.
