Abstract
New meta-material-based electro-optic modulators are proposed for converting wireless millimeter-wave signals to lightwave signals. By utilizing a two-dimensional coupled-split-ring resonator array and polarization-reversed structures on a LiTaO3 substrate, 100GHz-band optical modulation was successfully demonstrated.
