Abstract
Self-homodyne transmission of 10-Gbit/s QPSK signals using an alternately-quadrature-phase-modulated and polarization-multiplexed pilot carrier with a simple photo-detector instead of a phase-diversity receiver is experimentally demonstrated. Dispersion-induced IQ-imbalance of the proposed scheme is also reported.
