Abstract :
We present theoretical and experimental studies of Brillouin frequency shift in tapered optical fibers by leaky mode approximation of acoustic waves and Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis (BOCDA), respectively. Our results show that the Brillouin frequency steadily increases according to decrease of taper diameter down to 20 μm.
