Abstract :
The development of dual polarized digital beamforming techniques shows a bright prospect of high rate Mobile Satellite Communications (MSC). It is a Multi-User Multi-Input Multi-Output (MU-MIMO) network if all user terminals in this network are equipped with dual polarized antennas. The present work focuses on introducing the Proportional Fair (PF) scheduling into this network. The main problem is that the PF scheduling requires estimating the possible transmission rate of all users, but it is very difficult in the MSC because of the great satellite channel delay. In this paper we propose a solution for this problem and evaluate it through computer simulations.
