Abstract
In the magnetic ranging for Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) system, the Kalman filtering is proposed to increase the accuracy of the measured range and azimuth, which overcomes the problem that the magnetic field is easy to be interfered and attenuated by the tube in the well. The Kalman filtering can be applied within the process of drilling, and the accuracy is increased at least one order with an appropriate depth of Kalman filtering.
