Abstract :
In this paper, Health Information Systems (HIS) is presented to discuss factors that enhance physician use of the application. The study adopts the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), which has been widely used in Information Systems (IS) research to study the behaviour of individuals that uses information technology. The theory is then extended with Self Efficacy theory in order to propose a research model for the use of health information systems (HIS). The variables in the proposed research model could be used to study the behaviour of physicians towards the use of the HIS. In addition, a mathematical model is presented from the proposed research model in order to clearly identify the dependent variables and the independent variables. Lastly, the statistical tools which can be used to perform a model fit by using the gathered data from a survey were presented and discussed.
