Abstract :
A CO2 trans-critical water to water test bed was developed to study the output of a typical heat pump using. A data acquisition system was used to collect, store and reflect measurement from temperature, pressure and flow-rate sensors of the system. NIST REFPROP software was used to evaluate the thermophysical properties. A temperature-entropy diagram was used to present the output of a preliminary investigation of the system. Typical efficiency results in terms of coefficient of performance for the heat pump were varying from 3.7 to 3.9. These efficiencies were related to heat rejection values varying from 10.9 to 11.8 kW.
