Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present model predictive control (MPC) for the periodic implementations of the optimal solutions of the dynamic economic emission dispatch (DEED) with transmission losses. The total transmission loss is assumed as a quadratic function of the generator power outputs and the demand is assumed to be periodic. The convergence and robustness of the MPC algorithms are demonstrated through the application of MPC to the DEED problem with a ten-unit system.
