Abstract :
This paper proposes a new Flexible MacroBlock Ordering type, named Ladder-FMO (LFMO), for error-resilient transmission of compressed video over packet loss networks. The proposed LFMO type outperforms most of other types supported by the H.264 standard in terms of both PSNR and encoding bit rate. In certain encoding bit rate conditions, the LFMO mode shows its better adaptability to the wireless channels transmission.
