Abstract :
The paper examines spatial and frequency variations of mutual coupling on the axial ratio in a two-element, circularly polarized, probe-fed array of pentagonal patches designed on infinite-grounded dielectric (/spl epsiv//sub r/=2.2 and 4.5) substrates having a 0.4 dB axial ratio at 2.24 GHz. The results for changes in the 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth with increase in substrate permittivity are emphasized and are included along with results quantifying the effects of increased spatial variations on the same parameter.
