Abstract :
This paper presents a MEMS-based reconfigurable antenna for enhanced global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) localization. A reconfigurable antenna is designed and controlled in such a way that the quality of the received signal is optimized. The reconfigurable antenna is using stand-alone packaged micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) RF switches in order to implement both polarization and radiation pattern diversity. Impact of such concept ranges from single transmitter-receiver to system exploiting antenna available diversity such as multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems.
