Abstract :
This paper presents a standalone DWAG (Doubly wound asynchronous Generator) employed for single-phase loads with harmonic compensation. PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) controlled back-back connected converters are used with a battery supported common DC link. The SC (Stator Converter) with a star-delta connected transformer is used to provide functions such as a load leveler, a current balancer and harmonics eliminator. The RC (Rotor Converter) is used to achieve MPT (Maximum Power Tracking) along with control of voltage and frequency at DWAG stator under varying rotor speeds. Both VSCs are controlled in VOC (Vector Oriented Control) mode to achieve robust dynamic response. The proposed control scheme for SC and RC is realized using a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). Performance of developed system is demonstrated under linear and nonlinear loads.
