Abstract :
A new backward/forward algorithm is presented based on constant power load model for the analysis of radial distribution systems. In the proposed method, active and reactive power is used as flow variables. The mathematical model of different types of distributed generation (DG) is modeled as PQ, PV and PQ(V) nodes in the power flow program. The voltage profile and active power losses prior and after introducing DG to radial distribution systems are calculated corresponding to DG units in different modes. IEEE 33-bus test system is used to obtain the results. The results of simulation indicate that the adopted models, different location and capacity of DG can significantly affect the system voltages and losses.
