Abstract :
Shape-from-shading (SFS) is a class of three dimension shape reconstruction method from one or more images. The development of SFS method mainly depends on two factors named research on the reflectance models and computing algorithms. Most existing SFS methods are with Lambertian reflectance under orthogonal projection. This paper proposed new SFS shape reconstruction algorithm with hybrid reflectance model and perspective projection. Firstly, imaging map equation under perspective projection is formulated based on hybrid reflectance model. Then a static Hamilton-Jacobi (H-J) equation is used to describe the imaging map equation. The SFS problem turns into viscosity solution of static H-J equation. And the H-J equation is solved by fast sweeping numerical approximation method. At last, experiments are performed to illustrate the proposed method. Experimental results on the synthetic images show that the proposed method can deal with specular reflectance. Experimental results of our captured images show that the proposed method is effective when dealing with real image.
