Abstract :
The paper presents an innovative distributed measurement system for wine fermentation monitoring. The system intelligence is distributed among some Local Measurement Units (LMU) and a Manager Unit (MU). LMU´s, made by a biosensor with its conditioning circuit plus a signal acquisition and processing module, can be integrated in complex multi-sensor schemes for process monitoring under control of a MU. The innovative approach proposed in this work allows to a fully automatized measurement process. A prototype of the system characterized for wine fermentation monitoring has been set-up as a case study and first experimental results are presented.
