  • Abstract
This paper presents a new algorithm for the problem of estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of narrow-band signals in the environment of a circular array. It combines the spectral correlation theory with interpolating technique and spatial smoothing technique to solve the DOA estimation problem. The simulation results indicate that it can greatly reduce the effect of background noise and interfering signals, and assure satisfactory performance for coherent signals. It also shows the ability of the signal-selective property to discriminate the signals of interest (SOI) with different spectral correlation properties
