Abstract
The possibilities of a new fringe evaluation method were explored. The method is based on estimating locally the fringe step and orientation that allows forming the 2D data-dependent anisotropic impulse response of a spatial filter to suppress noise influence without decreasing fringe visibility. The high noise-immunity of the proposed method was verified experimentally when processing complicated fringe patterns by recovering the full fringe phase.
