Abstract :
The expansion of power grid becomes an inevitable trend by the development of power system, and the real-time monitoring and stability control have some new requirements. As the traditional monitoring system SCADA/EMS can´t meet the real-time requirement, WAMS become more and more important. But with the increase number of generator set and collecting data, limited bandwidth of communication network can´t transmit all measuring data in one transmission cycle. So data in the distant monitoring center may not be updated, which makes the entire system instability. A communication scheduling strategy is used to describe the phenomenon of limited communication, and then the WAMS is modeled as a switched system. By using the switched system method and LMI technology, a stabilizing controller is obtained. Finally, a four-machine two-area power system is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
