Abstract :
It is pointed out that the success of quality circles at NEC America (NECAM) is attributed to the cooperative efforts of many organizations within NECAM and the unique approach for managing quality by the Software Quality Control organization. The structured methodology used in managing the quality circles is discussed. It is concluded that quality circles are now recognized by an increasing number of employees at NECAM as an acceptable vehicle for solving development-related problems or implementing process improvements
