Summary form only given. Energy saving is considered to be of the same importance as adopting clean energy in CO2 emission reduction. Energy saving may be achieved through implementing a better control strategy or through integrating innovative design of components/devices/processes to form a system. The talk will revisit optimal control theory for energy optimal control and present some engineering examples.
