Abstract :
Network-based probabilistic techniques in artificial intelligence often mention path analysis as an ideological precursor, but the fundamental connections between the two paradigms have not been explored. An analogy between the two is presented, and it is shown that a number of computational results in the AI/expect system literature are directly obtainable from path analysis
