Abstract :
Knowledge intensive problems which are transient in nature but still benefit from the application of expertise are identified. These problems are denoted as episodic classification problems and the evolution of a blackboard based approach is detailed, first as an architecture, and then as a prototype application, used to solve this class of problems. It is noted that, while some system changes are required to accommodate the nature of the application being addressed, similarities over these problems lend themselves to a generalized solution
