Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. The combination opening switch (COS) based on composition of vacuum interruptor (VI) and plasma erosion opening switch (PEOS) is considered. The both devices are executed in one construction. The COS works as follows. The primary energy stored in the circuit of inductive energy storage and VI. Then mechanisms acted and electrodes moved apart. At the attaining of necessary distance between electrodes the appearing arc is extinguished by making a pause of current in the clearance. No-current condition stops the emission from electrodes of VI, but ions, electrons, vapor and particles are remain in vacuum gap. For neutralization and deposition of each of these components the limited time is needed. The duration of no-current condition is chosen long enough to prevent breakdown of vacuum gap under impulse voltage action when PEOS acted. In this moment the gap of PEOS is filled with plasma. The break of current which provides the no-current condition create the contact through plasma gap of PEOS. The energy of storage is transferred to load when PEOS acted. Under the greater value of switching currents the parallel system of electrodes of VI is used to break up circuit. Optimum values of current on each electrode of VI are defined by the value under which diffuse mode of the arc is saved. The various factors (electrode material, form, magnetic field) influencing upon stable work of COS are analysed. Usage the COS in the pulsers allows to save the magnetic energy in the volume of inductance before it will be put out to a load. Transformation of current flowing through the COS creates conditions for the peaking up of power and output of energy to the load.
