Abstract :
In this paper, an improvement to planar SIW slot antenna array is proposed. Choke Grooves are added between two neighboring radiation waveguides. Compared with traditional SIW slot antenna array, this improvement can greatly extend the operational bandwidth. So it is possible to construct planar SIW slot antenna array which meets both low side lobe and return loss requirement in desired bandwidth (5%). The fabrication of this planar SIW slot array is shown. The return loss and beam pattern are measured, and the results are also presented.
