Abstract :
A novel dielectric-supported switched parasitic antenna array has been developed and studied for mobile wireless communication. Due to the introduction of supporting dielectric, the antenna array has more compact structure and can´t be easily broken. By changing states of loaded RF switches, antenna array can implement the function of main beam scanning. Switches and MCU (micro-controller unit) on the control circuit are used to control the directivity of main beam. Trial model has been fabricated to validate the antenna performance and experimental results indicate that beam scanning can be achieved easily.
