Abstract

The authors describe a case study that demonstrates the integration of network monitoring with visualization. The AVS visualization package is used to graphically display the output of the tcpdump network monitor. The visualization system allows the user to simultaneously view multiple parameters and to discern relationships that may not be readily observable from numerical data or standard plots of data
